Child's play

Here's an assortment of character designs I did for Carter's. Exploring new styles, while always aiming for cute and a level of simplicity in each. :)

Looking back; moving onwards.

Hellohello.
2009 proved to be a very career-nourishing year. I was very grateful to participate in an internship over at Melbourne, Australia in the very amazing XYZ Studios. Although time seemed to fly by in a blink of an eye, it rekindled my love towards animation and concept development. I even got to assist in the animation of a commercial for Fortis Bank in Amsterdam! :) Here's the final product:

Right after Australia and its massive spiders, both Shelde and I headed back to the good ol' USA and settled in San Diego until the Comic-Con, where I was very fortunate to draw at the Elephantmen booth.

Saying that the experience was a dream come true is an understatement. Can't thank you enough for making this experience possible, Richard!!! I hope to do some more Elephantmen-related sketches and work in the future. ;)

Anyway, a few months after SDCC, I got asked to do concept work for an online ad promoting Walden Media's upcoming productions. The animation was done by The Luv (thanks for including me in this project, guys! :), while I dealt with the storyboard, character and environment design. Final product can be watched HERE.

After parting from my sweetpea Mr. Sheldon in January, I've dedicated my time in Puerto Rico to working once again on my portfolio in hopes of revamping the whole thing. I'm very excited for what 2010 holds in store, and have plenty of ideas/projects to fulfill and hopefully for you guys to enjoy. xoxo

Proper care, attention, and love shall be given to this little place I call my virtual abode.

Sorry about the wait. <3

Good Mornin', San Diego!

I'm finally back in the States (in San Diego, to be exact), and I couldn't be happier! Sure, jetlag is still there, but I'll overcome it in time for the SDCC '09. Is any one of you guys attending the event this year? Drop me a line so we can meet up!

Anyway, here's some relatively new (or rather, updated) art!

A resurrection, and other artistic matters

I decided to re-do my previous gallery piece and give it a digital spin:

Sketched it out with pencils, fleshed the colors with PS all the way. Trying to find new directions to approach my art, I suppose!

In other productive news, here's a watercolor+ink piece for this week's Demon theme over @ Doodlz+Sh!t

last but not least, a quick sketch from yesterday's figure drawing session at the No Vacancy Gallery in Melbourne, AUS.

photo-finish submission

Sticking true to the good ol' Ringling days...I finished a gallery piece right before the deadline came to an end. :x

I was stressing through most of the day since I decided last minute that I wanted to do some watercolor washes over the pencil drawing...but after hurdling through its severe ugly phase, I reached a state where I'm moderately content with it. I will take better pictures soonsoon, but for now here are some preview shots.

Dance Magic Dance

(posted originally in Doodlz&Sh!t)

Decided to kick off the blog's current fantasy movie theme with none other than Labyrinth's Jareth the Goblin King in all his glory. Tee hee.
